*Overview:*
The position is responsible for proactively soliciting and handling sales opportunities.
Ensures business is turned over properly and in a timely manner for proper service delivery.
Assist in leading all day-to-day activities related to sales with a focus on building longer-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of sales objectives.
Assistant Sales Manager will work closely with Sales & Marketing Manager to ensure the needs of the customers are followed.
*Qualifications:* High school diploma or GED Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field (preferred) * Must have previous sales experience working in the hospitality industry.
* Proven track record of sales success * Understands how to communicate, negotiate, and network effectively.
* Good organization and time management skills * Self-motivated and team player * Excellent communication skills with all staff/vendors * Fluency in written/verbal skills within assigned market where language skill is required for the position.
* Basic computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint with ability to learn.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule including, evenings, holidays, weekends, and travel.
* Customer service experience * Prior experience in marketing or sales environment * Experience in selling and booking tours/activities such as concierge services.
* Knowledge or experience in Timeshare sales *Responsibilities:* * Prospect a list of company and referral leads generated through research, networking, social media, special events.
* Serve as the point of contact for clients and communicate with them by phone and email to respond to questions and requests.
* Generate sales presentations and a variety of additional materials for prospective customers highlighting event space, dining and catering services, and facility amenities * Recognize opportunities to maximize revenue opportunities by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding guest satisfaction for the hotel group.
* Assist sales team by managing schedules, filing important documents, and communicating relevant information.
* Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Including other duties may be assigned)* * - Responsible for learning the hotel brand and strategy * - Develop clear understanding of the hotels business strategies then set goals and to determine appropriate action plans to meet those goals.
* - Collaboratively work with off-property sales channels to ensure sales efforts are coordinated * - Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.
Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, OTA management, etc.
* - Negotiate group business, guest room rates, meeting room rental, and hotel services within assigned markets that meets or exceeds hotel revenue goals * - Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.
g.
, generating proposal, writing contracts, and customer correspondence).
* - Ensure all pertinent aspects of solicitation, closing, and customer communications are complete and documented maintain existing accounts with active trace/follow up system * - Ensure accurate and complete use of the sales system per SOP including recording all bookings and lost business * - Develops, maintains, and prospects a Target List of accounts and communicates updates to Reservations & Revenue Department * - Research and understand demand generators, new business sources, and use the internet as a prospecting tool * - Prepares resumes for groups prior to group arrival and review all details in weekly meeting * - Assist with all group rooming list, daily inspection of guest folio, communication with front office on group arrival, communication with accounting regarding guest billing, communication with Reservations & Revenue Department on group room block.
* - Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
* - Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, as required.
* - Drive customer loyalty in order to grow share of the accounts by delivering excellent service throughout each customer’s experience * - Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
