The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc.
The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment.
If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.
JOB SUMMARY Position Purpose A member of the Executive Committee is responsible for managing marketing activities required to improve awareness and recognition of the hotel and to reach the profit objective while maintaining quality standards, and serving as a liaison between the hotel, Public Relations, Advertising agencies and Society Circles.
The Director of Sales & Marketing must implement and meet budget and revenue targets, review the work of multiple teams, participate in sales and outreach to high-profile clients, and negotiate contracts.
The director of sales and marketing also sets prices and discounts, devises marketing strategies for expanding their client base, and oversees a team of skilled professionals to increase sales and improve client satisfaction.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Functions • Create and implement short and long-term marketing strategies to meet sales team goals and annual sales target.
• Actively seek new business using marketing campaigns, telemarketing, e-commerce, site visits, and other method.
• Hire, train, and motivate your team to provide better customer service to your client.
• Generate new business while also increasing customer loyalty by cultivating long-term relations with patrons.
• Evaluate market trends to determine pricing to balance costs, competition, and supply and demand.
• Prepare accurate and complete sales reports documenting marketing budgets, current market share, direct sales, and outline marketing plans.
• Consult with sales managers and stakeholders to evaluate the company's performance.
• Schedule and determine advertising and public relations campaigns for rooms and food and beverage.
• Coordinate and establish occupancy and average rate objectives on monthly and yearly basis.
• Monitor productivity and motivate staff on an on-going basis.
• Work closely with executive Committee members in supporting and achieving the hotel’s goals and objectives.
• Develop and implement departmental mission statements.
• Implement and maintain spirit of hotel’s mission.
• Respond in a courteous, professional and rapid manner in order to resolve all guest and staff difficulties.
• Apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of not standardized intellectual and practical problems to perform and direct many varied and complex tasks.
• Interpret and comply with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form.
Customer Service • Interact in a courteous and professional manner with all guests, staff and community members.
• Respond in a courteous, professional, and rapid manner in order to resolve all guest and staff difficulties.
Other • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
• Attend training sessions set out by the Westin Resort to ensure continued personal development.
Supervisory Responsibility • Certain operational situations may require supervision and delegation of associates.
Required Knowledge and Skills • Exceptional oral communication skills to ensure to negotiate and persuade guests and staff to achieve results beneficial to the operation of hotel.
• Knowledge of computer accounting and property management programs, as well as budgetary analysis, capabilities required.
• Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services, and facilities • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business, correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups to manager, clients, customers, and ownership.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Interpret and comply with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form.
Qualifications / Required Educations and Experience • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Marketing Director in a service industry environment.
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in business.
Preferences • Ability to converse in two or more languages preferred.
Other Duties • Due to the cynical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required.
