1989 Fender JB-62 Jazz bass.
From the legendary Fujigen factory in Japan, which are the first vintage reissues from Fender.
early “I” serial number dates to 1989, made in Japan at the legendary Fuji-Gen plant.
Classic faded Olympic White finish, tortoise pick guard, rosewood fretboard.
Later custom shop pickups installed.
Professionally set up with roto sound 45's round wounds.
Great fret life left.
This is a REALLY nice playing and sounding bass, almost as nice as my real '62.
I have owned dozens of vintage Fenders basses over the years, and this one is as nice as it comes.
What makes these Fender's unique is that they were actually the flagship models at the time, pre custom shop.
CBS sold Fender in 1985 which required Fender to build a new American plant.
When Fender commissioned the Fujigen factory in Japan they produced instruments so authentically good that Fender realized the demand for quality vintage reissues, leading to the formation of the custom shop.
No case.
It will be available when I get back
off the road April 11.
Price is firm.
Will consider trades.
