Purpose and Scope:
A Quality Technician or QA Inspector is responsible for reviewing products and materials during manufacturing or construction to make sure they meet company requirements.
Their duties include measuring objects compared to their intended physical specifications, running quality tests and identifying defects.
Essential Responsibilities:
Good written and verbal communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Keen attention to detail
Basic computer and math skills to calibrate and measure specifications
Ability to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers and computers
Up-to-date knowledge of federal and industry standards and best practices
As Built/Blueprint reading capabilities
Documentation and reporting skills
Teamwork and collaboration
Comfortable climbing, standing or walking for long periods of time
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
Education and Training: Associate degree in business management or administration (preferred) or 1-3 years’ experience in Quality Control.
Analytical Skill: Quality technicians are able to conduct tests to ensure a product or material falls within established quality specification.
Interpersonal Skill: They are able to work with team of quality assurance personnel to make sure materials and final products meet set standards of quality.
Organizational Skill: They are adept at planning and developing standards, procedures, and best practices for ensuring product quality.
Work Environmental, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
