Job Description: The Housing Referral Assistant is responsible for providing assistance to all logistically supported military, Department of Defense (DOD) and non-DOD civilians and their families with all housing needs at the assigned base.
Conducts briefings on housing policies and procedures; updates and maintains available housing lists; and replies to complaints.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Contacts individuals or organizations such as landlords and real estate agents by phone and correspondence to obtain listings of rental or for-sale properties and possible future prospects of housing.
Maintains liaison with these individuals to keep lists updated.
Briefs all incoming and outgoing customers on housing policies and process.
Counsel applicants with regards to availability of housing that will meet the applicant's needs, including special circumstances, such as, medical or financial hardships and mediating landlord/tenant disputes
Provides information regarding community services, i.
e.
schools, churches, transportation, hospitals, hotel, and job information centers
Furnishes information to those interested in home purchase, including locations, owners, agents, price ranges, loans and other related information
Maintains daily records of office activities, including number of applicants, number placed, and agents solicited or listed
Schedules appointments for housing inspections
Conducts housing inspections to ensure policy standards are met, including compliance with nondiscrimination policies
Prepares and processes civilian rental leases; may assist with set up of electronic fund transfers
Receives, classifies, reconciles, interprets, consolidates, and/or summarizes documents and information utilizing standard office equipment
Maintains files and records of documents processed
Prepares and compiles reports within prescribed guidelines gathering data from a variety of sources
Interfaces with customers, suppliers, or Company employees outside the immediate work area on a regular basis to give or exchange information
Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of local real estate fundamentals and practices
Two (2) year experience in an administrative or clerical position
Basic computer skills in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a suitable driving record
Ability to obtain to U.
S.
Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS)
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of the basic organization, functions and performance objectives of the Family Housing Program
Knowledge of military disbursements and collections, including civilian rental program and the electronic collection of monthly rents and deposits into Government accounts
Knowledge of the Enterprise Military Housing (eMH) program
Knowledge of military instructions and policies on pay allowances and entitlements
Knowledge of military housing instructions, policies and desk guides
