JOB SUMMARY The Loan Officer is responsible for soliciting, negotiating, underwriting, and coordinating the closing of routine consumer loans offered by Personal Finance Center.
The incumbent is expected to and will be responsible for engaging in solicitation of new loans for funding, generating referral business, leads, developing and establishing professional relationships with new, existing, and previous clients.

• Consistently spends more than 30% of working time engaging in making business development calls either by phone or face-to-face meetings to retain existing customers and obtain new customers in order to lead the overall profitability of the company.
• Communicates the company’s loan product offerings, encourages prospective applicant program inquiries, and seeks to provide comprehensive information on the loan(s) best suited to prospective applicant’s needs.
• Gathers all initial documentation required based upon the applicant’s selected loan program including all disclosure requirements.
• Performs borrower qualification assessment and analysis of financial condition; carefully assesses and evaluates the risk of financing requests within the framework of the PFC Finance credit culture and current economic and industry trends; orders and reviews credit.
• Informs all parties to the loan transaction progress and requirements that must be met prior to funding.
• Thoroughly completes loan application; analyzes and qualifies applicant based upon information provided to determine viability of client’s desired loan program.
• Receives loan applications and ensures that all documentation required for loan approval and/or funding is made available for timely processing, underwriting, and funding.
• Ensures loan origination processes are in accordance with PFC Finance policies and procedures as well as Guam Territory and federal regulatory laws.
• Participates in training for marketing, sales, and scenario techniques to effectively sell, package and closes consumer loans.
• Prospects and generates leads to consistently meet and/or exceed department production goals, cross-sell other products and services provided by PFC Finance.
• Approves loans within specified limitations.
• Efficiently and effectively processes steps involved in credit granting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBIITIES • None QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s degree in finance or economics a plus, but not required, an equivalent combination of education and experience within the financial services industry or related field highly desirable.
• Must have 4+ years of experience, training, and/or education within loan origination and underwriting for consumer or commercial lending; experience and licensing in mortgage loan origination preferred but not required.
• Must have at least 2 years of experience within the banking or financial services industry in a customer support position.
• Must have Life & Health Insurance License or the ability to obtain licensing within 90 days.

• Ability to understand and apply oral and/or written instructions, procedures, and best practices.
• Must have the ability to make sound decisions that have a moderate impact on the business.
• Must have the ability to interpret data, prepare reports, correspondence, conduct information presentations.
• Must have intermediate to advanced working knowledge of, and experience with various computer applications, industry related software, and office technology and hardware.
