Finance - Internal Auditor

Internal Auditor, Finance BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Works with management and staff to identify all compliance risks and to ensure that the hospital has internal controls that adequately identify and assess the effectiveness of the hospital’s compliance program.
Conducts regularly scheduled internal audits to ensure that the hospital is able to address all failures and key risks in a timely preventive fashion, before state or federal authorities such as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) or Medicare Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) discovers them during an external audit or investigation.
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Job Requirements: • 7 years of working experience in external and/or internal auditing preferably in a US healthcare setting • Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) • Working knowledge of any ERP system (i.
e.
Oracle Netsuite, Great Plains Dynamics or equivalent); and • Working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX compliance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Able to analyze data and to identify patterns and trends that could indicate potential issues • Able to effectively communicate and convey audit findings and recommendations • Strong understanding of risk management principles • Possesses reasonable degree of business acumen including understanding of the industry and regulatory requirements • Skilled in performing systems audit, revenue integrity audit and operations audit
